An toddler is in essential situation after being discovered “underwater” and “unresponsive” whereas below a babysitter’s care, Arizona police stated.

The babysitter was watching the 1-year-old and his two older siblings at her house on Thursday, June 16, El Mirage Police Department stated in a launch.

Around 8:30 p.m., the babysitter was bathing the 1-year-old along with his 3-year-old sibling, police stated. Her “attention was diverted, and she went to another part of the home.” When she returned, the boy was “underwater.”

Officials obtained a 911 name in regards to the incident at round 8:35 p.m., police stated. Upon arriving on the house, officers discovered an “unresponsive” 1-year-old boy.

“Paramedics performed emergency life-saving measures on the infant and transported him to a local hospital,” the discharge says.

The boy was later airlifted to Phoenix Children’s Hospital, the place he remained in essential situation as of Friday morning, police stated.

The babysitter was arrested on expenses of kid endangerment, police stated.

El Mirage is about 20 miles northeast of Phoenix.
