Taking motion on local weather change ‘won’t cease China’s aggression’

Sky News host Sharri Markson says the declare China’s actions within the Pacific are due to Scott Morrison and Australia’s lack of motion on local weather change is “absurd”.

“No matter how much action Australia takes on climate change, it is not going to stop China’s aggression in our region,” Ms Markson stated.

“China’s security pact with the Solomon Islands – which has sparked concerns, very real concerns, that this could lead to a military foothold on our doorstep – it comes despite the fact China is one of the world’s largest emitters of carbon.

“Short of taking more action on climate change as Anthony Albanese suggests, and giving more aid funding, we need to look at what can Australia, what the US, the UK, India and Japan can do to prevent the Pacific leaders from laying out the welcome mat to Beijing.”
