Sunshine, Harmie loom as players to beat at Couples

With a career in the skies put on hold, Sunshine Baraquiel goes for further justification of turning pro when she shoots for a second straight win beginning on Wednesday as the P750,000 ICTSI Riviera Ladies Challenge tees off at the complex’ windswept Couples course in Silang, Cavite.

The 30-year-old, who is a lady pilot, will have some momentum and a whole lot of confidence coming into the 54-hole event after thumping basically the same field in a survival test at punishing Highlands in Tagaytay two weeks ago, where a nine-over-par total was still good for a three-shot breakthrough.

Harmie Constantino is the other player to watch after winning the previous leg, at Aoki in Eagle Ridge, before failing to match Baraquiel in Tagaytay.

This will be the third tournament in four weeks since the reboot for the touring ladies. INQ
