The Chiefs will host the Broncos in Week 13’s edition of Sunday Night Football. The Chiefs lead the division at 7-4, but the Broncos are still very much in the postseason picture at 6-5. Kansas City is laying nine points as the home favorite, so Sin City sportsbooks aren’t optimistic over Denver’s chances of pulling an upset. Hopefully, for the sake of entertainment and competitive DFS single-game contests, the Broncos make things more interesting. We have three Denver players, including our Captain, in the DraftKings Showdown lineup below.
Before we get into our picks, here are the key DraftKings Showdown rules: It’s full-point PPR, and there are three-point bonuses for 300 passing yards, 100 rushing yards, and 100 receiving yards. The Captain picks costs 1.5 times a player’s original price, but he also gets his point total multiplied by 1.5.

DraftKings Showdown Picks: Broncos vs. Chiefs
$50,000 budget, need at least one player from each team.
Captain (1.5x points, 1.5x salary) RB Javonte Williams, Broncos ($11,400)
It’s looking increasingly likely that Melvin Gordon (hip) will be inactive on Sunday, leaving Williams to serve as the lead runner for the first time this season. He’s gone over 100 scrimmage yards twice over the past three weeks, and with an increased workload, he will have a good shot at earning DraftKings’ three-point bonus for 100-plus yards rushing. The Chiefs have been better defensively in recent weeks and the Broncos are heavy underdogs, but Williams is capable in the passing game, so volume should still be on his side.
FLEX WR Tyreek Hill, Chiefs ($10,800)
Hill has had a nice run over the past several weeks. He eclipsed 20.0 DK points in three of his past four games. Hill has only failed to reach double-digit targets three times this season while seeing 15 or more twice. The Broncos contained Hill in two meetings in 2020, but he’s a threat to go off for a monster score in any given week. Since we’re not rostering Patrick Mahomes, we’re going to include his top two targets.
FLEX TE Travis Kelce, Chiefs ($10,000)
Kelce has been on a bit of a roll, scoring 17.8, 22.9, and 18.8 DK points since Week 9. He totaled 26 targets over that three-game span and has earned 10-plus looks on five occasions this season. Kelce posted a 8-136-1 line, good for 30.6 DK points, in his last meeting against the Broncos. Anytime Kelce is ticketed for a heavy workload — and there’s no reason for us to expect otherwise — we’re happy to bet on him.
FLEX RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire, Chiefs ($8,600)
Edwards-Helaire made his return from a five-week absence and resumed his backfield-leading role. He turned 14 touches into 15.6 DK points, and with two more weeks of distance from his injury, a heavier workload is a reasonable expectation. The Chiefs are heavily favored, suggesting a favorable game script for Edwards-Helaire and Co.
FLEX WR Jerry Jeudy, Broncos ($7,200)
It hasn’t been the Year 2 breakout most expected from Jeudy, but he appears to be inching his way back into form after missing six games with a serious ankle injury. The Broncos were able to win in Week 12 without leaning on their passing attack (18 attempts, 155 yards), but in a matchup where the Broncos are getting up to 10 points from oddsmakers, Teddy Bridgewater is very likely to drop back far more frequently on Sunday.
FLEX TE Albert Okwuegbunam, Broncos ($1,400)
We’re asking for a big play or a touchdown from “Albert O” with this play. He was a solid tight end prospect coming out of the draft in 2020, and even though he plays behind Noah Fant, he’s enjoyed some moments over his brief career. He received five targets in Week 9 and turned three targets into a 3-77 line in Week 10. He offers enough potential to complement the lineup’s heavy hitters.
