MANILA, Philippines — Arnel Mandal delivered the Philippine wushu staff’s second gold within the thirty first Southeast Asian Games on Sunday at Cau Giay Gymnasium in Vietnam.
Mandal beat Indonesia’s Laksmana Pandu Pratama within the males’s sanda 56kg remaining.
The Filipino athlete swept the Indonesian in two periods for the nation’s second gold in Wushu.
Mandal ousted Thailand’s Thongchai Huanak within the semifinal with an exciting 2-1 victory.
Mandal joined compatriot Agatha Wong, who captured the primary gold medal for the Philippine wushu staff within the ladies’s taolu taijijian occasion earlier.
Wong efficiently defended her crown in ladies’s taolu taijijian after she settled for the silver medal within the ladies’s taijiquan occasion on Saturday.
