Queensland mandates masks in all indoor settings

Queensland’s mask mandate has been expanded to include workplaces, hospitality venues, and all indoor areas from January 2.

It comes as the state recorded 2,266 cases in the 12 hours to 7pm last night.

“From 1am Sunday January 2 … virtually all indoor spaces except when eating and drinking and when undertaking strenuous activity will now require masks,” Deputy Premier Steven Miles told a media conference on Saturday.

“This is on the advice of the Chief health Officers and is a further measure to slow that race of increase in cases.”
