Lee now up by three; Pagdanganan slows down

Minjee Lee of Australia went low with a 9-under 63 on Friday to take the 36-hole lead on the Cognizant Founders Cup in Clifton, New Jersey.

Lee’s spherical featured eight birdies, an eagle and only one bogey. It helped her construct a three-shot benefit over Ally Ewing, Lexi Thompson and Sweden’s Madelene Sagstrom, who enter the weekend tied for second at 11 below.

The Philippines’ Bianca Pagdanganan coughed up a 72 and dropped six pictures off the lead with a two-round whole of 5-under. Filipino Japanese Yuka Saso rebounded with a 68 and climbed to 3-under, eight pictures off tempo.
