Investors to ‘favour’ markets with strong climate policies

The Investor Group on Climate Change’s Erwin Jackson says institutional investors and banks will favour markets that have strong climate policies.

“We’ve seen, at the COP, about $130 trillion in assets under management commit to get to net zero,” Mr Jackson told Sky News Australia.

“And to back that up there will be a whole bunch of transparency needed. At the end of the day to meet those targets, institutional investors, banks and insurers are going to have to change their investment activity.

“Which means they are going to favour markets which have strong climate policies.”
