The San Rafael Fire in Santa Cruz County, Arizona, grew rapidly to 10,000 acres by Sunday, May 8, with the National Weather Service saying harmful fireplace climate was set to proceed till no less than Wednesday. The Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management stated on Sunday that evacuations had been in place for houses forward of the hearth.
