‘Both sides of politics’ want to provide coal mining communities the ‘support they need’

Adani Australia CEO Lucas Dow, who is asking for Australia’s political leaders to assist the institution of a coal business mutual insurance coverage fund, says this shouldn’t be a “partisan issue”.

The fund would guarantee coal and fuel initiatives, in addition to the companies that assist them, may proceed to have entry to insurance coverage and money because the banks and insurance coverage firms transfer away from backing fossil fuels.

“The real challenge is that (the) nation, and in particular, regional Australia’s prosperity’s being put at risk by the withdrawal of financial and insurance services by their banks and the insurance sector,” Mr Dow advised Sky News host Peta Credlin.

“Both sides of politics should be aligned on this, to be able to afford the folks in regional Australia, and particularly the coal mining communities, the support that they so desperately need, to ensure the ongoing prosperity of the sector.”
