Alex Eala says enjoying in SEA Games a ‘large deal’ as tennis group targets 3 golds

HANOI — For any individual who has received two junior Grand Slams and now already enjoying within the professional circuit, regional video games just like the Southeast Asian Games must be simply one other event in her busy calendar. But Alex Eala is taking her maiden SEA Games as “a big deal.”

Eala, who is just turning 17 later this month, debuts Friday when tennis group competitions begin at Hanaka Tu Son Bac Ninh.

“I’m very excited to play, of course, it’s a very big deal in the Philippines, I’ve been wanting to play this for a while now,” Eala informed the Inquirer. “I have practiced with my teammates and yeah I think I was able to have a good relationship with everyone, just bringing the good vibes and having the positive mindset.”
