Albanese pushed to intervene over Assange extradition

Former international minister Bob Carr says the Albanese authorities ought to demand the discharge of Wikileaks founder Julian Assange.

Mr Assange can be extradited to the US to face espionage prices, in a transfer accredited by the United Kingdom authorities late final week.

There are reviews the federal government is lobbying for his launch and has raised the case with senior United States officers.

Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and his ministers say they won’t take part in “megaphone diplomacy” on the difficulty.
