The photos seem to point out the Russian flagship, the Moskva, being hit by Ukrainian missiles, regardless of the Kremlin’s claims that the ship sank due to “choppy waters”.
The mom of an nameless conscript on the ship advised Novaya Gazeta, a Russian investigative media outlet, that the strike had led to dozens of deaths and that the Kremlin refuses to confess this “because the Ministry of Defence does not want to admit defeat on the part of Ukraine”.
It took the Russian army virtually a day to confess the embarrassing lack of the delight of its Black Sea fleet after it was hit within the early hours of Thursday, initially insisting that it had caught fireplace after an explosion and was being towed again to land.
The Kremlin later admitted the Moskva, one of many navy’s three most important missile carriers, had sunk, however stated it was on account of “choppy waters” and occurred whereas it was being towed to security.
The US has since confirmed that the warship was hit by two Ukrainian strikes, believed to be Neptune anti-ship missiles.
